We’ve been twice in two weeks after moving to Logan Square. Incredible! The drinks are phenomenal, the food is delicious (omg try the vegan pozole! , and the service is friendly and attentive. New favorite spot!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian AND vegan options! Delicious.Dietary restrictions: I’m dairy-free and they’re very attentive to menu modifications and ensuring my needs are met.

The tamarindo chicken wings were fantastic. Crispy and drenched in that wonderful sweet and tangy sauce. Each tamal in the sampler was unique in its own way. I slowly savored each one. The mezcal Paloma was nearly like the ones I make smoky with a citrus kick. Only downside was getting the check before I asked for it.Food: 5/5

I highly recommend trying the Mango Salsa Goat Cheese Enchiladas - a unique and flavorful dish that I can't stop craving. The Tamarindo Wings are also a must-have, winning awards for their exceptional taste. The Posole comes in both vegan green and chicken red options, both of which are delicious, but the vegan green is truly dreamy with no soy, tofu or processed protein sources, only avocado. In terms of drinks, there is a wide selection of mezcal and beer offerings. My personal favorite is the El Alacran mezcal cocktail - a refreshing and perfect accompaniment to the flavorful dishes at Estrella. Overall, Estrella Negra is a standout restaurant with delicious food, great service, and a vibrant atmosphere. Make sure to stop by and try out their amazing dishes and cocktails.

Great food. A warm and friendly place with beautiful art on the walls. Terrific value for the money.
