Gibsons Italia - Chicago

I came with friends last February for a birthday dinner had an incredible experience so much so, that we all agreed to come back to celebrate the next friend birthday in July. The experience the 2nd time, unfortunately, just didn’t compare from a service perspective. Despite clearly putting in the reservation notes that this was a birthday celebration, there was no acknowledgement of this until prompted. For our February birthday visit, we were greeted with small glasses of sparkling wine, which we didn’t order but were such a special and wonderful touch! This time, nothing. In February, a complimentary dessert was presented, with a candle at the end of the meal. This time, a dessert menu was presented to the table, without acknowledgement of the birthday. When reminded (a second time) that we had a birthday, the server did bring out a dessert to share. For the price we paid for dinner here (and we chose a fairly pricey wine of which we had two bottles), I expected better of this experience and was sadly disappointed. Perhaps the server was having a bad day and he wanted to be elsewhere? That’s the way it felt to me. I wanted to like this restaurant as much the 2nd visit as I did the first, but that was not the case…

Great service topped with the best New York Strip I have had in a long time. Looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks

It is always a pleasure to come here and feed. the ambiance and vibe is perfect. there is always a nice amount, business professionals, couples, challenging families and what they have. the energy is beautiful. I love the decor and the vibe is dope. I love what it looks like and eating is amazing. the customer service is perfect.

Modern take on Italian dishes Steaks are exceptional. If you like grass feed beef, this is the place to get it. Service is excellent; unlike many places you are not rushed through dinner.

This place was amazing!! Our waiter Erick was phenomenal. Great service, extremely knowledge, prompt, and gave great suggestions. The ambiance was fantastic and the food was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend the veal and oysters. 10/10 experience and they went all out for my friends birthday that we were celebrating. Such a fantastic experience. Will be back!!
