Ixcateco Grill - Chicago

This place is definitely a little hidden gem in a busy neighborhood. We went there for brunch and we really enjoyed it. The food was fantastically seasoned. I wish they had a larger brunch menu but the food, salsa, coffee were delicious so it made up for the lack of selection. I love that it's byob and they had classic Mexican music playing that took me back to when I was a little girl. I look forward to going back to try there dinner with friends. Can't wait!

Had the rack of lamb, Borrego en mole negro. It was delicious! The lamb was cooked medium rare, just the way I asked. Soft, juicy, perfectly seasoned meat. Really beautiful presentation on a white plate on top of the black mole. The black mole was also really delicious. Slightly sweet and savory! They left me craving for more!

Love the ceviche! Totally fresh and authentic. Top notch place that is up to par with any top gourmet Mexican restaurant. BYOB and family owned !
