Lao Sze Chuan - Chicago

The food tasted great with good portions. We ordered the shrimp with lemon sauce, xian long bao and Peking duck. The shrimp was sweet so our 3yo son also loved it. It was my husband’s birthday, so they served us a chocolate cake with a robot singing happy birthday for him. I didn’t order it, so I thought it was on the restaurant. However, when we got the check, we were charged $11 for that cake! That was the only disappointment… I wish they had asked us if they were going to charge us, which has never happened to me in the past…

The food was absolutely incredible. The server had zero personality or interest in being there. I tried to tell her how good it was.....not interested. I'll go back because I love to go there when I'm in town. Service could improve.

Way over priced for Chinese food. Better to stay in Chinatown. Average bill of of $60 per person

Food showed up an after an hour. It was tasty. Our server was apologetic. They took 15% off the bill. But the owner told us “this happens all the time” which is a you problem, not a me problem. Never again will we be going to this location.
