The mother of all French Bistros. When I moved into civilization from the middle-of-nowhere, Illinois, I immediately gravitated toward a number of French Bistro style restaurants as my favorites. What I didn't realize back then, is that all of those places were shallow copies of Le Bouchon. This is my favorite restaurant of all time. It is impossible for me to imagine any way to eat better than what is available at this gem of an establishment. To boot, it's actually a pretty great value considering what you get. The only thing that makes it spendy is that you will want to order every single thing on the menu. This is such a great hospitable place with friendly, warm staff and even better food. Run, don't walk, to Le Bouchon for an experience you won't regret, assuming you appreciate well crafted, sophisticated, but unpretentious cuisine.
