After a White Sox game, I decided to get a burger and a bowl of chili with a cold draft beer. To my disappointment, I found out that the original Lindy's on Archer Avenue had closed down. Let me explain, I used to work at this restaurant in the 1970s and everything was made fresh, from the chili to the onion rings and French fries. The crew took pride in their cooking and the place was always bustling with customers. It's a shame that this iconic restaurant, a Chicago institution since the early 1920s, was sold and closed. People used to line up outside the doors at 10am just to taste the delicious fresh chili and other offerings at Lindy's on Archer Avenue. Bill Orr and Tennessee would be disappointed. It's truly shameful that Chicago has lost such an iconic restaurant at 3685 Archer Avenue.
We took several kids and adults after the Zoo! Affordable and delicious ?
The customer service was excellent with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant had a very traditional and classic feel to it.
I love this restaurant! The food is always fresh and the drinks are cold. It's a great place to dine.
