I was in the mood for some thin crust pizza and discovered Pat's. They absolutely delivered! The crust was perfectly cooked, and the traditional buffalo wings and cheesy bread were also fantastic. We will definitely be returning!
The pizza was incredible. John's Pizzeria in Logan Square recently closed, and we've been searching for a good tavern-style pizza place, and this one is definitely the best we've found, possibly even better.
16” Pats Special. Terrific intro to Tavern-style pizza. Very Hospitable staff at closing time. Fried appetizer platter for more.
The problem with making the crust super thin is that it browns/blacks easier in the oven, is dry, and becomes more crumbly than crunchy. Pat’s does a decent job at their thin crust but still encounters the blackening (i.e. burnt pizza bottom) problem. The tomato sauce and cheese they used paired well together, however could not distract you from the crust. The pizza is better than any fast food place, but not nearly the best in Chicago. The garlic bread was incredible — soft bread with a more crusty bottom with the right balance of butter and garlic dipped into perfect tomatey marinara sauce.
