The restaurants were delicious and service was wonderful with everyone we came across. Everything about this place was understated lux, service felt genuine, and surprisingly unpretentious. It was, dare I say, near perfection. My only complaint was that the technology that controlled the rooms was a little limiting in what we could control, for instance zones of lighting versus individual fixtures. This posed a challenge when trying to get our daughter to sleep with dimmed lighting, and to balance enough light while we were still awake afterwards. Ultimately though, we made it work just fine. Hands down I would stay here again, and if we could stay at another Peninsula in another city I would jump at the chance.
The Peninsula never disappoints!! It has been several years since visiting Chicago, but the Peninsula is always a highlight to our Chicago visits. It is a foundational beacon of civility and consistency. I automatically feel more relaxed when I walk into its lobby. I believe the refurbishment is several years old, but it still looks new.One of the many standouts of this hotel is its focus on anticipating your needs. The ranges from the room layout to all of the staff. It seems like everything is always there when and where you need it (or more accurately want it). We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite on this trip, which was a new level of luxury, but even the standard rooms are exceptional. One of my other favorite luxuries at this Peninsula is the rooftop (inside) swimming pool. It is a quiet oasis, yet it is a reminder of Chicago's energy as you lap swim glancing at the sky scrapers through its floor to ceiling windows.Chicago Peninsula luxury is quiet but undeniably present. Expensive, yes, but in my mind undeniably worth it.
Top notch as one would expect from any Peninsula hotel. Worth the splurge when in Chi town. I had a hard time deciding between the Langham and the Peninsula, but I'm so glad I ended up going with the Peninsula. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The staff are warm and welcoming. I love their specially curated lotion that is made specific for each city. During my stay, I had high tea which is a must at any Peninsula locations. If you're having breakfast at The Lobby or room service, I recommend the Pen edict for a little morning luxury.
Beautiful hotel! First time here because we wanted a change from the other luxury hotel around corner. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was professional and attentive. Room was luxurious and food was delicious. There was not one flaw during our stay. Thank you Peninsula for a wonderful time!
It was the most horrible experience We had just landed from LAX and we were tired and hungry, while my husband was getting a room I went to the restaurant and they said they were fully booked. I could see multiple empty tables so I went to the concierge to inquire but he gave me the seats, “Pronto.” Few days later I needed laundry done but they said, we are closed for the week so once again I had to go through the concierge. At breakfast my husband wanted extra oats but they refused and we said we’ll pay for it but they weren’t ready to give any. I find the place unlike any other 5 star hotels their moto was “not available or can’t do it. “
