Ping Pong - Chicago

Edit: 2022 reviewer confirms with management that Veg elements are not labeled as vegetarian, and most are also vegan. my review changed to reflect the update. my friend and I went to pingpong last night and let our waiter know we're vegan. we ordered some items specially labeled vegetarian on the menu we were ordered and said vegan. our waiter returned from the kitchen after we have taken our order to let us know that all objects are made with a brown sauce, despite the marked vegetarian, with oyster sauce. we asked him if this could be changed because we were told that they were vegan, so he went back to the kitchen to check. when he returned, he let us know that they could not be modified, and could therefore not be made vegetarian, although clearly marked vegetarian. he showed us the items that could be made vegan, so we went with the lotus pad thai and modified fried rice. they were both very tasty, and the waiter was very nice and helpful, but it was disappointing that a restaurant would be the products as vegetarian if they did not. updated by previous review on 2019-11-03

The owner was on resurrection and has published on social media. if this is the kind of business they want to support, they will go for it.

Ping pong is one of my favorite places in chicago! I've eaten so often here and I'm still in love. there are five stars in my eyes, although hc does not allow more than four stars. five star food review written in 2013 (still the same feeling): the vegan eating at ping pong is incredible! the good: Buddhist enlightenment of the side and tofu bands coupled with the glass noodles and skillfully seasoned soybutters are from this world serious. scallion pancakes amazing, great taste and texture. the bad: the veggie spring rolls highly not recommended overall this is now my favorite chinese restaurant ever! I will often be back, highly recommended!

Our favorite Asian restaurant in lakeview. love the ambiente. excellent eating and service. in any case recommend.
