I have not visited this Roti location, but I go to one close to where I live all the time! There are so many options for meat-eaters and vegans/vegetarians alike! My favorite meal is the falafel rice plate with LOTS of s'hug sauce, couscous, tomato cucumber salad, and sumac onions. You get a lot of food for a very decent price and it is very filling! Their hummus is also really good! The s'hug sauce is actually addicting and I wish Roti posts their recipe for it so I can make it myself because I just cant get enough of it!
I really like this place for lunch. Their falafel wrap is delicious and I also like their couscous. They have all these options like eggplant and olives that you can add to your wrap. The hummus is nothing special, but I liked the pita chips it came with. This isn 't a good place if you want a fancy dinner, but for lunch or quick dinner, it 's perfect. They seem pretty veg friendly too, some of the staff wear t-shirts that say Vegetarians are people too.
I decided to try Roti because it offered a decent view and was conveniently located near my hotel (I can be pretty lazy). Despite mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I ordered the Falafel in a Pita bread and watched as they freshly prepared it for me. The dish was delicious and I appreciated being able to customize it with as many vegetables as I wanted. The falafel was well-made and reminded me of the quality I usually find at places like Crazy Bowls and Wraps. Overall, it was a pleasant and efficient dining experience.
Roti's is a convenient option for those working late in the Loop, as they stay open until 8pm on weekdays. However, the food is average at best, so unless you are in a rush or limited on options, it may be best to explore other dining choices. If you find yourself in the theatre district looking for a meal, consider heading to Greek Town instead for a more satisfying dining experience. Vegetarians can enjoy delicious vegetarian moussaka at a Greek restaurant, while vegans may prefer a visit to upscale vegan restaurant Karen's on Green, located in Greek Town. For those new to the area, Adams Halsted in Greek Town is the perfect spot to explore and find a restaurant that suits your cravings.
