I probably should have chosen a stir-fried dish instead, but I decided to go with their house special beef noodle soup. The broth has a flavor reminiscent of herbal hotpot. The various cuts of beef are tasty and well-seasoned. However, the noodles were slightly overcooked. I think all the ingredients could have harmonized better!
I ordered the shaved noodles with brisket, but I was pretty disappointed. The noodles were thick and lacked flavor, and there was hardly any brisket in the dish—most of the meat was just fatty pieces that I couldn't eat. I typically enjoy some fat in my brisket, but this was just inedible for me. I barely managed to eat anything from the dish. The cucumber salad was decent, but it felt like I definitely received the wrong meal. I think if the server hadn't been so pushy, we might have had more time to choose the right dish. On the bright side, the service was good.
I visited this restaurant and ordered the House Special, and it was absolutely fantastic! It's one of my favorite soups in Chicago! The broth was rich in flavor, the noodles had a perfect chewy texture, and the generous pieces of beef truly enhanced the dish. Adding a bit of chili oil took it to another level! I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend it!
I'm lost for words! This food is so flavorful, satisfying, and affordable without sacrificing quality! I'm glad I found the on the first night of my trip, and I look forward to ordering more tomorrow!
Loved it! Everything was amazing just missed that there was no limes but over all amazing! ???
