This is a great find in the Midway area. I had their carne en su jugo, very good. I also had a chile relleno, this was next level and a great portion for a taco. The tacos de carne asada were also solid. I wanted to pay a second visit but as I got there, I remembered that they are cash only so I decided to go somewhere else. Parking: The lot is located right next to the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Bring the whole family. This place is great. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes they also have handicap parking in their lot. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and today I finally went in. I had heard they were known for their Steak soup and Tacos, so I decided to order a 1/2 gallon of the soup and 3 steak tacos. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the food. I had expected something different from a place that was rated as the best by WGN for their steak soup. The soup had large chunks of semi-cooked bacon, very few pinto beans, no spice, and the meat was the same as the one used for the tacos, which was not great. The quality of the meat was not what I had in mind, especially considering I paid $4.00 per taco. It looked like ground beef. The tacos were greasy, and the soup was not worth the $27.00 I paid. This experience leaves me feeling disappointed, and I will not be returning to this restaurant.
The food at this restaurant was good, but it was quite pricey. We ended up spending over $100 for two adults and one child. When we were seated, they offered us chips and guacamole or salsa, but we were surprised to find out later that it was an additional $10 charge. The overall quality of the food was average, and I don't think I would return. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere each a 3 out of 5.
I recently dined at this restaurant for lunch and found the price per person to be between $30–50. The food was rated a 3 out of 5, the service was a 4 out of 5, and the atmosphere was a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Carne Asada Al Pastor Taco.
