Taste Bud 1 - Chicago

Yesterday, my co-worker from Chicago took me to this restaurant for lunch. They serve amazing Philly Cheese Steaks. The hand-cut fries are fresh and covered in a delicious tangy BBQ sauce. The sandwich had hot meat and just the right amount of cheese. Great job, guys! I would give it a 10/10 rating.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service leaves much to be desired. I feel that the owner is to blame for the long wait times. There are only two young women working to handle both walk-in and online orders, and they are struggling to keep up with the demand. It is clear that they need additional assistance. I placed my order at least 25 minutes in advance of picking it up, yet my order still was not ready when I arrived. I then had to wait an additional 15 minutes before my order was finally prepared. The whole purpose of ordering ahead for pick up is to minimize wait times, especially if given ample time for preparation. It appears that there is a consistent issue with poor service in the Black neighborhood, and we must strive for improvement. The owner should make an effort to hire more staff during peak hours to ensure that orders are promptly fulfilled.

I rarely write reviews, but I had to share my experience with this sandwich because it was incredibly disappointing. I ordered a chicken Philly and was horrified by the quality. The bread was stale, the chicken was dry, overcooked, and flavorless, and there were minimal vegetables and American cheese on it. A Philly cheese sandwich should not have American cheese. The fries were decent, but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. The lemonade was passable, but it should be advertised as Kool-aid. This experience needs to be rectified.

Update below... I went to the location and ordered the philly chicken sandwich with double meat, only cheese, grilled onions and mayonnaise. It was good. Fries and a drink came with it. For $14.00. I just wish they used mozzarella cheese or provolonecheese. I don't like American cheese on Philly chicken sandwiches. Update... I'm giving them a 1 star now. Since my first orderI've placed two more orders through DoorDash, same order. My 1st order I got a Kool aid drink with my order as you can seeabove. My last two orders through DoorDash I did not receive a drink. I tried calling the restaurant on several occasions toverify if maybe a mistake was made. Taste Bud never answers their phone. I even sent a message on their Facebook page. And noone ever replied. I don't like that the communication is bad. Not good business.

The Philly Steak at this restaurant was excellent. The mild sauce on the fries really added a delicious touch to the dish.
