The sandwich was pierced hot when it was brought to our table and we liked the spice mix that had a touch of heat. The bread and butter pickers were chefs and the hover was fresh and crispy with a great sweet taste. The chicken was tender and thick and not overcooked. We liked it wasn't overly baked, but still had a nice scratch on the outside. The Mac was not traditional, but we thought it was excellent! Well seasoned and ultra creamy, not dry at all. We would recommend this place.
Not bad the food is good, and while it serves a little expensive for a counter place, my food was a good portion size. I got the chicken tsar $12); it came with about 5 thick tenders, a piece of bread the bread was not my favorite a little hard near the edges) and a few pimples with their home sauce. So much for dinner, even without fries or a side, for a young hungry guy. The classic heat is actually spicy, and the chicken comes hot, so you probably want a glass of water. Outdoor seating are a beautiful function, although it is a crowded road, and the interior ambiance is beautiful enough, although it seemed empty for a Saturday night. My food was ready in about 10 minutes, so overall a good place for a quick bite, which is cheaper than the upscale sit down restaurants elsewhere on Armitage and Halsted.
I got the hot chick sandwich on it. It was delicious, but not as juicy as other critics say. The Mac
I really wanted to love this place, but at the price I just can't justify it. You're the best fried chicken sandwich in Chicago, and I think they are? I'm closing. But I'd say it wasn't perfect. The chicken itself was very crispy and quite juicy, but I would really like to see a sweeter coleslaw to balance the heat, I think it would go a long way. The Mac and the cheese were okay, but not worth the price tag again.
Look at that juicy chicken, it was definitely on the bigger side of fried chicken sandwiches, that's for sure. I wish there was more sauce on the sandwich, or a sauce on the side. Their sides are on the pricier side, but they're still pretty tasty regardless.
