I came alone and made sure they turned me around, as they are always fully booked. the waiting staff and the owner made me feel comfortable and were very friendly. the scallop pasta raw and tasted amazing. general quantity of skallops. the bartender recommended a white wine that went very well with the pasta. also had the lemon cake that was super damp. also here the bartender recommended a fleet that went super with the cake. can no longer recommend this place. there would be 6 stars if possible. ps make the images not the food-friendly, as the lighting was dim. barrier-free: ramp that goes up the restaurant
I start all my Yelp reviews with 'I 've been wanting to try ' but am pretty sure this one has been on my list for way too long! I finally got a chance to dine on the elegant patio (dog friendly! and loved this meal. The limoncello spritz cocktail was a refreshing start to the meal and went along nicely with our appetizers. The fried artichoke hearts were scrumptious but not heavy, which was perfect. We also got to try the delicious gnocchi in a warm red sauce. For our pasta entrees, we had the orecchiette and special of the day. The orecchiette was flavorful with a nice kick and plenty of tasty sausage and broccoli rabe. The special pasta of the day was a truffle sauce with fried burrata and divine! All of this with a ceasar salad was the perfect meal with plenty of pasta leftovers because the portions are generous as well. Our service was amazing, drinks and food the best, and price point not bad at all for the river north area! Such a great meal and would highly recommend.
A lively Italian bar! Came with another couple to celebrate our engagement and sat at the corner of the bar, which was perfect for conversing and sharing plates...luckily our meal was perfectly coursed otherwise we would have run out of space. The bartender that evening was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We all shared: Burrata pesto Arancini Gnocchi Meatballs Arugula salad Torchio pasta by far my favorite! Short rib pappardelle Spaghetti garlic shrimp Broccoli rabe Mini cannolis Gelato Olive Oil Cake an absolute must, wow! Honestly, everything was tasty but there were a few standouts (see above). We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu hopefully get to sit outside because it looks super cute!
I am obsessed with this place! Delicious handcrafted cocktails and delicious and unique pasta dishes. I could eat their Fettuccine Lemon Basil Cream everyday of my life and never get sick of it. The first time I came here, we sat at the bar. The service was amazing! The bartender overheard our conversation and made great recommendations. I had the Bees Knees Gin cocktail before dinner and the Espresso martini after. Both were tasty and unique. We ordered the Semolina Gnocchi for an appetizer and OMG so good! It melts in your mouth! I always order the Fettuccine Lemon Basil Cream with chicken. I have tried to duplicate this at home and cannot. So creamy and delicious! My friends have ordered the Torchio Pasta and the Braised Beef Risotto. Both were very unique and delicious. For dinner we ordered the Tiramisu and were not at all disappointed. I wish they did delivery as I would be ordering it all the time. Any time my friends are in the mood for Italian I will be recommending this place. Not only are the food and drinks delicious, but the service has been outstanding!
Another great Italian restaurant in the Chi! Loved the number of options for pasta and you can add a Parmesan bowl to each dish. We took advantage of that and it definitely added some flavor and pizzaz. We also got the Torchio salad that was a winner too. The outdoor space is somewhat covered which was nice and reminded me of Lake Como. For pastas, there were so many choices so that made it tough but we picked well and enjoyed the bolognese, pesto cream W/chicken and the bucatini arriabatta w/burrata. I feel like you can't go wrong as it's truly pasta heaven! We will Come back.
