There used to be others in the area like Old Pro and NoName, which moved downtown and disappeared respectively. This place has a taqueria under the same roof, and offers a wide range of spirits and beer. It is often full of overly refreshed people to the point that the bar staff sometimes have to act as bouncers. There are several pool tables and a gorilla serving peanuts. One feature in the last couple of years is the addition of a dedicated Bare Bottle (SF Brewery) rotating tap they have been churning out a variety of hazy IPAs and Kettle sours though this is usually the sole craft beer they have available.
Niche place. Sometimes help is stuffy, sometimes very friendly. A little bit pricey. Great for gift baskets or gifts (they'll make you one). Found a delish sammi here called The Bird. Coffee is good. Lots of wine, chocolate and of course, nuts. One time they got me some peanuts that were a shade too old, but usually nuts are great. They used to have musical entertainment at happy hour time, but not sure what will happen after lockdown. I like this place for uncomplicated lunch meetings.
Times are a changing and it looks like our watering hole is soon gonna be just a memory. No matter the Nuthouse had its run. The owners want to go in a different direction. Ohhhh wellll
The Nut House. This place is legendary. A total dive, and thats what makes it great.
The Mohawk guy is the best... Who made me them best long island iced tea I've ever had in my whole entire life. and I'm from Jersey shore and that says a lot about a Long Island iced tea. Plus the Jameson shots were like super large and it's also really cool
