Tortilla Flats - Chico

This was our first dining experience at Tortilla Flats. I bought a Groupon and it was well worth it. Cute decor that they obviously put a lot of thought, time, and effort in to. A little rough around the edges, but that just made it feel well visited and homey. There were menu selections I've never seen at other restaurants. I had the Sizzling Enchiladas and they were FABULOUS! The portions were very generous. Everything was served fresh and hot. Service was good, as it should have been since we were the only people there besides the men at the bar. : The only criticism is that they didn't have CHOCOLATE milk shakes for the kids only vanilla and strawberry. You'd think that would be a staple item. Just thought it was quite odd. Overall terrific experience, and we will most certainly eat there again.

My wife and I live down the street and have come here a few times and have had a good experience every time. We are vegan and they are always very accommodating and knowledgeable regarding what is in each dish. Good inexpensive authentic Mexican food. And the margaritas are good too!

Edit: Sadly, these guys are closed now... Tortilla Flats has been one of my favorites for many years. Still thrilled with this place and still recommending to friends. My favorite item is the enchiladas Santa Fe. They are amazing. Smoky sauce, shredded chicken, with melted cheese and sour cream to top it. Yum and yum some more. The prices have crept up over the years, true, but the service is still great, the food fast and plentiful. The chips are usually hot and always my favorite in town. This time we ordered a couple of new things in addition to the enchiladas: the molcajete and steak fry nachos. They were both very well worth it. I must admit, however, we had a brand new server who wasn't sure whether the steak fry nachos would come on chips or fries. There were fries, which is quite surprising for a Mexican restaurant, but soooo good. Tender steak, guac, pico, cheese, beans, and tons of it! The molcajete is hard to describe, but if you're a chorizo fan, you really should give it a try.

Amazing food, outstanding service yummy margaritas made our first visit to Tortilla Flats one we will never forget! We are hooked! Thank you!

Good food for a great price. We went in near their closing time, and their service was still fast and friendly. I'm definitely going again.
