Vedder Sushi - Chilliwack

My friend and I went there for lunch takeout. I ordered a "Chicken Set A" while she had some deep fried roll I couldn't identify.I was pleasantly surprised to find out I got miso soup and several "extras" included in this box special. It all tasted really nice and at $13.95 was pretty good value.My friend was quoted a price that was higher than what was advertised on their website. She mentioned it, and was told "we just recently raised our prices and they aren't updated on the website yet".Wow. In my world that's false advertising. My friend is always a big tipper -- it wasn't the extra $2 she was being charged that irritated her. The fact that they admitted to false advertising and offered her nothing to compensate was terrible.Jeez -- she would have been happy with even a cup of miso soup at that point, but she got nothing. When somebody leaves a restaurant visibly disappointed like that, the management should offer them something.Small business is a tough place to be, but it's loyal customers like her who spread the word and drive their business. One gesture from them would have made her feel special. She didn't just leave paying more for her food than was advertised on the website. She also watched her glowing reviews about "how nice the staff was" turn to ashes.I doubt I'll be back -- no huge loss to this restaurant since it was my first time there. Also, this place is a bit further out of the way than I usually go. That's not the point. This restaurant lost one of their best supporters. She had been telling me for months to give this place a try, and I feel bad for her.Word of advice -- when ordering takeout, get the server to quote you a price over the phone. Avoid nasty surprises... and then you'll be able to enjoy the food.

Within 1 minute of being seated, I was drinking tea and enjoying miso soup. My sashimi/teriyaki bento was ready before I could finish the soup. I love the teriyaki here because it is served on crispy sauted cabbage and beansprouts - so light and crunchy. Tempura light and sizzling hot. As always - filling, but not heavy. Sashimi very fresh and beautiful. My favourite meal here.

Group of 3, 2 people had there order brought on the same plate, while the third person had to wait for there food.

We have been to numerous sushi restaurants and this is the best in town for quality and service. The location on Vedder road allows for quick and easy access, you will not leave starving

Still great sushi after kovid! still take out, although causing to live within 5 minutes. have they been happy that they are in my neighbourliness!
