It's a very busy area, however, you'd never know when you're in the hotel room because the rooms are very quiet, no noise pollution. The rooms are small (as expected in Tokyo) but they have everything necessary and the beds are comfortable. Location, price, comfort all spot on.
Photos are front he front of the hotel and from my room. The hotel is newer and located in a very busy street next to the train station and above a convenient store and a Starbucks menu quite fixed and mostly different from what they offer USA . The street in front is filled with pedestrian traffic coming or going to work and wondering around anime stores. Basic rooms are small with a separate private bathtub and toilet rooms. The sink in in the hallway as you enter the room. Strong a/c but I think the room and the water feel humid, I was not able to mirror my natural hairstyle, it always took forever to dry and it looked flatter. The check in is mostly automated and to some might seem confusing. The breakfast voucher is of a great value $5-7 as it offers plenty of choices at the 2nd floor buffet restaurant. Nevertheless, most items seem warmed up frozen selections. Breakfast, lunch or dinner sessions are mostly of the same selections prepared differently. If you are a discerning diner don’t bother with this restaurant. I liked that I can jump in the green line train and in 20-30 min I’m in one of the most interesting wards. If you love games, grab machines and Anime, Akihabara is the place to be and all this is steps from the JR hotel. The hotel staff is awesome, super helpful, polite and friendly. Overall, food in the Akihabara area is placed below my expectations. Grab and go is hard to find other than 7-11 or Micky Ds and if you manage to find a place, there are no street garbage bins to dispose your wrappers so you will need to either hold the trash in your backpack or in your hands until somehow you run into a private bin. For me this came second in frustration other than the excessive August 75% humidity.
Very small room, but that was all they had available at the time. Very convenient location right next to the station and a bunch of shopping. Didn't interact too much with staff but they were friendly when we did. Best part was the robot cat waiter at Jonathan's, the restaurant!
This hotel is right next to Akihabara station! Great location, new, clean, bathroom has separate shower space and price was reasonable. BUT it’s probably perfect for young people. The room has no drawers and for me, that’s tough one. Not good for long stay without drawer. But other than that, it was good.
Conviently located next to the subway. Check-in process is via the machines which I found slow compared to the the traditional check-in by staff. Checking in early also cost an additional 1000yen to per hour after 12:00pm. Hotel room size is what you would expect within Japan. I stayed in a twin room with an infant and there was just enough room to move around. Noise insulation is fantastic given that its located next to the subway and my room was right next to the elevator, I didn't hear any noise at all. Great selection of amenities including free bath salts located next to the lifts on the 2nd floor.
