Welcome to the Fergburger of Christchurch! Distinctively different tastes but both are epitome of good burgers. I am based out of town and traveled 3 hours just to try them. Regret, I did not! First off, the 6 of us all had different burgers. The mountain burger that you see is aptly named The Man Mountain, and I swear it is freaking ginormous and definitely can be shared if you're not a big eater. Definitely your daily intake of protein and we were all gobsmacked by the delightfully greasy, overflowing ingredients. I personally ordered Shane, which tbh, was a little disappointing in size when compared to The Man Mountain. The patty wasn't the juiciest maybe because it was a thicker-than-usual patty. However, having hashbrown in it was a winner for me. The chorizo added a burst of flavour to the burger, which complimented very well. The whole burger wasn't as easy to consume by the mouthful as I expected, as the sauces were overflowing and was a bit annoying towards the end. That's a good annoyance for sure, rather than not having enough of it. I wanted to order the battered onion rings and I regretted so much not doing it. However, we ordered the Bacon Bros Fried Chicken as a side to share and it was so juicy! The batter was really good. Despite having a queue, the turnover rate was high and we received our burgers in less than 10 minutes. I'm glad I found an extremely good burger joint in CHC! Can't wait to try Shaka Bros next and see how consistent their burgers are.
Hell yeah, this is a good burger. Small for sizing and a little sloppy but it’s worth it. The loaded fries were pretty good. Kind service. They have an organic cola that I tried, not a fan but nice aesthetic.
Troy and the team at BEERS/Bacon Bros sorted us out by catering for our wedding. The food truck setup was brilliant and the food was absolutely sensational, with everyone commenting on how good it was. We had a huge selection to choose from that catered for everyone including pork ends, pulled lamb, beef brisket, chicken wings, BBQ jackfruit, slider buns, chips, deep fried cauli, broc, onion rings and slaw. They made life on the wedding day super easy and everything ran perfectly. Would highly recommend these guys for wedding catering or just a feed instore.
I try to write very honest reviews. I ordered the Milkman Chicken Burger, fries and a drink. Drink: sugar free cola, expensive but not bad. Chips: good serving, Chicken salt, very tasty, dunno why I need to pay for sauce when you're charging me $8 for fries... Burger: tasty, fresh ingredients, however, for the price, it's quite small. $18 should be a larger Burger, even with the Ingredients being high quality. To be fair I suspect there are two reasons for the price being high: 1: I bet rent is crazy high in that central city foodmart location... guaranteed mon to fri professional foot track. 2: I bet they get a lot of customers just ordering relatively low profit items like burgers only, you could solve this by offering discounts for ordering a meal... Also, I'd leave that location once you get a decent reputation, which you already have, to reduce costs and offer more competitive pricing. Parking sucks too.
