Been here a few times since they opened. A bit hit and miss for me. Ordered lamb shish kebab. Large portion size and reasonably spicy. More than enough for one person. Suggest it's a shared entree to be honest. For mains I got khadai chicken and the better half got the mango chicken. They both looked similar due to the ever present red food colouring used extensively in many Indian restaurants around the world. Anyhow khadai was OK. Same with the mango chicken. Tried a mint infused paratha bread for a change rather than the standard naan I usually get. It was a bit dry and burnt but a nice flavour all the same!!! We will go back again but there are many other Indian restaurants around where the quality is a bit more consistent.
My absolute favourite place for Indian in Christchurch. The restaurant is small but well laid out, modern and clean, albeit a little too dimly lit.<br/ <br/ They have a great selection of curries and generous portions to boot. I'm partial to the chicken korma but the palak kofta is a must try as well.<br/ <br/ Takeaways are no fuss and timely, and a little bit cheaper than dining in when ordering through the website which works a treat on mobile always a plus.<br/ <br/ I'd highly recommend Himalaya to anyone who's curious; good food and friendly service all around.
The Makhni Chicken served here is just outstanding. I keep intending to try something else but the thought of the Makhni Chicken flavours is just irresistible! Service is good and fast. This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Christchurch.
Great fresh restaurant and amazing service, these guys have done a brilliant job and even though they were booked up they managed to fit the two of us in.
