This market is all vegetarian, but has not many specialties vegan products. if they want to be stored on fresh fruits, vegetables, bread etc., then it is great. indo tempeh house has a stall with about half vegan options and great time to take along, and ananda simply wholefoods often have a stall to sell hot food and vegan burgerpatties and sausages to take home. dogs are not allowed in the market.

I love this building market. it is thought to be the only vegetarian market in the world and is certainly the only one I know in nz. it is located in a great location at the river in the green opawa at the foot of the port hills. many beautiful market stands with many offer free tastes. you could find nut cheese, shitake mushrooms, juices and of course a series of fruit and vegetables grown by the people they sell. the market often leads special days and events such as strawberry festival or potato competitions for children. there are often live music.
