I asked, as we are there at 3:20, we can still get the lunch menu prices as we have come to the end, this lady says no. She was the cubbier and she had the nerve to have an attitude?
I literally can't imagine why someone would judge this place badly. We stumbled today after purchasing at Costco and decided to try it. The food was spectacular. The service was even better. The best part? It's the cheapest sushi place I've visited in the last two years. Will definitely be back. Thank you, gentlemen.
This is one of our favorite sushi restaurants in San Diego. It?s close to our house and has some of the best service and food in town. We have been here many times and we have always been excited about all the great full sushi rolls and ice cold beers. We have been excited about Sushiya For years and would like more people to enjoy this place.
My first experience with Sushiya started out nice. It was a weekday, the restaurant was crowded but not packed. We got a table within 3 minutes. Shortly after being seated a server took our order for drinks and promptly left. At this restaurant you browse though a list of sushi and other assorted items and mark off how many you like on a sheet of paper. I found this a bit cheap, as the prices here not inexpensive. Our order took about 15 minutes to arrive. I was busy on my phone, when one of the people in our party remarked that the sushi seemed a bit off. I looked at what they were talking about and sure enough several of the rolls we're not cut properly. They were uneven and some were not cut all the way through. Other roles were stuck, pressed hard down on the plate. So much that when you picked it up or tried to pick it up, it fell apart. Not what I expected from $15 and $18 rolls. Finally we never did see our server, only when she brought us our check. We never got drink refills; I had to ask a busboy for napkins. Not quite sure where the breakdown was with here. Perhaps I am expecting too much from a place where the average sushi roll is $12. I will wait a couple months and try it again. Post an update later.
It was a typical Date Night on Friday for my husband, Oliver and I. We have been really good with managing our food costs, so we were in dire need for a Sushi date. We decided to try a place that is near by our school that we have been meaning to go, but for whatever reason we don't. When we arrived, we noticed a mob of people outside of the venue and we almost wanted to leave, but since we drove far, we were committed to that place. We went inside and we waited for them to call us. It took around 20 minutes for them to situate us. The venue was nicer than I expected. They have TV's all around, they have a sushi bar and enough space to host big parties. Was very very impressed with he variety and choices that came along with their menu. I ordered a Teriyaki Salmon Plate with a Philadelphia Roll. My husband ordered a Black Pepper Chicken Plate. Both plates were served with a side salad, a miso soup and rice. The Philadelphia roll was one of the best rolls I have ever had! The salmon was fresh and the cream cheese was so creamy and sweet it complimented the salmon very well. Did I mention that some rolls are 50% off when you dine in? We got two rolls for under 10 bucks! Everything was great. The service, the venue and the food. I am already contemplating on going back and enjoying more of their delicious rolls! :
