The best Cornish Cream Tea I've had in a long time. Friendly staff, lovely outdoor seating area out the back. Definitely visiting again
We rang the day before for lunch on Sunday and had a table in the courtyard out the back, the staff were so friendly and attentive. We had the seafood platter (minus the kipper pâté as they’d run out so gave us more of the others) and the kipper in a bun. The portions were very generous and all was tasty. The kipper was really good
We stopped at this warm and inviting tea room to try and find somewhere to stay. The coffee was great and I can very honestly say that the ginger loaf and Victoria sponge cake were both delicious and very large and we enjoyed every mouthful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will visit again.
Proper cream tea, lovely food, and easily one of the best mochas I've ever had. Definitely worth the visit. Only criticisms would be that the loo is smaller than that of some airplanes, and not in the greatest state of repair (wobbly tap, and flush mechanism missing its button), and that the outside/courtyard seating isn't exactly picturesque. Fortunately, the staff and food definitely make up for it.
