Quality restaurant in the center. a reference of the gastronomy of a hundredfueguera.
This restaurant is pretty good, so I decided to visit it two days in a row. I ordered the same for the second time and to my surprise it was made different and some articles were missing with new ones at their place that were not there for the first time.
The Polynesian Scam It seems that the story continues, according to what we have read in other comments, it is a common way of receiving and teasing the yumas as Cubans call foreigners... The locals told us that it was a super cheap restaurant, so what we began to see from the beginning surprised us. The first thing that surprised us is that everything was closed, almost hidden. You had to knock on a wooden gate, once they let us in they sat us down separately from the rest of the customers. A waitress arrived, from whom we asked for the menu, but she told us that they had nothing available so it was useless for us to look at it. They only had two dishes with which they had prepared two menus: one with Beef at 600 pesos and the other with fish fillet at 700. And we saw that the waitress began to whisper to her colleagues... We soon realized that there were other customers who came in as soon as They gave them the menu. We started to ask them to bring it to us and after almost 20 minutes, insisting several times to several waiters, they had the decency to bring it. We found out that the prices were infinitely lower, in such a way that the sum of the dishes on the menus that we had not even chosen cost around 300 CUP Cuban peso instead of 1300 as they wanted to charge us. We began to ask for explanations, another waitress arrived, presumably the head of the room, and told us that we had misunderstood, but that we had to pay 1300 because we had ordered two menus which did not exist on paper... . Insisting, we ask to speak with the person in charge, who appeared in a peaceful way. After having explained to him what had happened, he told us to pay what was fair according to the letter, and that he would deal with his employees. Doing the bill, plus the drinks out of the supposed menu we paid 375, instead of almost 1400 Cuban pesos, with a difference of more than 1000 pesos, which in Cuba is a lot of money!
Good place, but only lime cocktails. no food or coffee.
