Went to Big Art's BBQ today. Went there at 3:45pm and the doors were locked. The sign on the door said open at 3:00pm. Three other cars pulled up and they along with us waited, but they left at 4:15pm. We stayed until 4:30pm and they finally opened the door. I just now read on Yelp that the restaurant has not been opening up on time. Why is that? Another thing we had 2 servers come to our table. One server said to the other, you wait on them. The other server acted like she didn't want to wait on us, but did anyway. She served us the wrong drinks. Please be careful with that, my husband is diabetic. The food came out quickly and was good and we got what we ordered. We also noticed they had two young children working there serving drinks and bread to everyone's table. The servers were adults that brought out the food and also to other people. If I had to guess the age of the children working there I would say 11 and 14. Is this legal? I also noticed not too many tables were occupied. It used to be crowed. If this continues I fear that they won't be opened too much longer if this type of service continues. It will be sad to see this wonderful family owned restaurant come to a close.
I called in an order and when I drove to pick up my order I saw employees handing food with no gloves. The main person I guess had a sour demeanor. My food was skimped on the fries by being picked over to divvy out to the other to go orders, disappointing.
Closed a long while ago. That's a shame as it was really good BBQ. Now there's not a lot of choices around here for great BBQ. Thank goodness Velvet Smoke opened its White Oak location, better IMHO.
We love this place!!! Everything is smoked perfect and oh so delicious!! The ribs are divine! Pulled pork so tender and flavorful! Omg I want it now!
