Council Oak Steaks And Seafood

We consistently enjoy excellent drinks and great dining, paired with top-notch service. This restaurant has become a regular stop for us whenever we travel from Eastern Kentucky to Cincinnati.

During our business trip to Cincinnati, we were on the hunt for a steak dinner and were quite surprised when our Uber dropped us off at a casino. The Open Table listing hadn’t made it clear that the restaurant was located inside one. However, the food and service were excellent, even though it was a bit on the expensive side.

While we enjoyed our visit, several dishes were overly salty. The Grilled Octopus was disappointingly salty yet again, marking the fourth time we've experienced this. Both salads were practically inedible due to the excessive salt—it's as if someone added rock salt granules on top of the already flavorful ingredients like the dressing, blue cheese, and bacon. Is more salt really necessary? On a positive note, the lamb was perfectly cooked, but it lacked seasoning. We'll definitely return, but hopefully the kitchen staff can fine-tune their seasoning in the future.

Our server was excellent but we waited on our food longer than usual

Normally good but this visit was a wasted effort. Shrimp was not good. Prime rib looked too bad to eat. Ordered a steak and it was over cooked. After an hour I had to eat a not so great steak. Most concerning is nothing was done to make up for the negative experience.
