It's good portions are very very generous for this type of cuisine. 4.5 stars seems more correct, nice to have some new haute dishes to try, a lot of nice extras are thrown in and really the 2 course menu should leave you stuffed, the 3 course put us in a coma..
Such an amazing menu and the wine pairings were fantastic! Presentation was the best yet, well trained staff and amazing decor. Well done all
I had a great lunch at Restaurant L this past Friday. I believe that is the only day they are open for lunch at this time. I had this incredible soup, a great burger and chips. One of the people I ate with ordered an appetizer that was also very good.
I've now dined with Restaurant L twice. My first experience was 5-star worthy, when accounting for some minor service bumps given it had just opened. Unfortunately, my second visit was not as pleasant. While the food is what you would expect for a fine dining establishment, the compliments stop there. Service was choppy with little personal touch. Our table, which spent about $150+ a person, felt ignored given the Chef and Maître D' spent 20+ minutes each with the neighboring table and completely ignored our party. Moreover, one of our courses had to be replated due to a service error. Our first course took about an hour to come out from when we were first seated due to service delays. The ice cream in the dessert course was melted due to mistimed service (they carried out the desserts shortly after our entrees only to swiftly duck back into the kitchen after realizing their error). The entrees seemed to be under a heating lamp for a while and were not at a good temperature. Gratuity used to be included and I was surprised to find that is no longer the case. I wish the ownership here the best, but I fear that I can no longer patronize this restaurant. Instead, your money and evenings are better spent at some of its peer restaurants.
