Orchids at Palm Court - Cincinnati

During my stay at the hotel for a conference, I had lunch included which included a vegan option. The non-vegan attendees were served a chicken Caesar salad, while the vegans were given a bowl of iceberg lettuce with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The waitress even described it as the saddest salad she had ever seen. Unfortunately, there were no vegan options on the dinner menu except for two sides, although I was unsure if the shishito peppers were really vegan. The breakfast buffet did offer oatmeal and fresh fruit, but at $20 after tax, it seemed a bit expensive for what was offered.

We've had lunch buffets (Easter, Mothers' Day, etc. at Orchids. They were all very good. Our first opportunity to dine at Orchids was a real experience. Comparing Orchids to the old Maisonette, Boca and Restaurant L (the three legitimate 5-star restaurants we've been to) is a real challenge. Orchids' service staff was above outstanding. Quiet and efficient, the table was cleaned and readied for the next course. The food was wondrous. The seared foie gras, Spanish mackerel, made us want more. The first plates are intentionally small and left us wanting more. Our Monkfish was superbly prepared and surrounded by great food. The chocolate dessert was a wonder. We can't say enough positive about Orchids/ We can also mention that the price was relatively low. Orchids is an unqualified winner.

The food was excellent, but the portions were very small. The service was wonderful and the staff was friendly. The parking lot was advertised as free, but cost me twenty a dollar.

We have tried various high-end restaurants in Cincinnati, but no comparison with Plam Court in the Netherlands. From the elegant environment, personal and knowledgeable waitress to the incomparable kitchen you are never disappointed!

Wonderful culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as special guests. The food, service and ambience were excellent. The room is a way and sets the stage for a wonderful evening. One of the best restaurants in Cincinnati.
