Was looking for a vegan place to dinner omw through Cincinnati (travel from Asheville, NC to Chicago) and hoping for Loving Hut, as on Happy Cow, but when I arrived, I discovered that it had closed, so I searched for a place with options nearby, as I already took out the way for defunct L.H. Found stone advice with an evaluation and an evaluation. I have vegan ramen with mushrooms and the brussels sea weed salad. Said to the server I talked to on the phone that I needed to be vegan, so no egg and he said: "You will then want the green tea noodles because the normal egg noodles are so that's what I got. Dumb from me to go crazy boiling hot liquids in plastic, but the soup was pretty good overall. I liked the noodles, even through them were thin and chewing. Decent amount of marinated white button mushrooms as the main protein and small amounts of mung-bean sprudel, advised carrot and tiny bit of scalion. Broth ok, but not much taste, although the mushrooms helped with because they were very tasteful (mainly only salty) I had a thai peanut primal stripe so that I added that up and added it for more protein and taste. The Brussels seaweed salad was a disappointment. It was just like a seaweed salad you get on a Japanese joint, but a top maybe 5-8 very small cabbage pieces and literally two single Brussels sprouts leaves, a tiny fiber sliver of maybe a Dino green and a tiny piece of kale trunk. Says on the menu that they use local greens for this salad ' if available. Pricey for something sub par, but really it was good for a shot in the dark. I liked the ambience and their terrace was beautiful, so if you could be a better experience in them.
I've been here a few times and let's just say that the food is what I'm not going to serve. The salad and vegan noodle appetizer are both delicious. I tried all the vegan versions of the duck: the stone bowl, ramen, and tofu teriyaki noodles. All are good, and the stone bowl is probably my favorite. Service is usually slow, and my first time here they tried to serve me a stone bowl with an egg above, although I did not ask for an egg for the vegan version. If you are patient, I would recommend checking out this place!
Amazing family restaurant. This is one of the most important and nurturing institutions I have ever experienced. They really want the best for their customers and the community. My friend and I will return! Amazing watermelons also;
Enjoy this hidden gem for years, and while some things are no longer available on the menu, meals are still as satisfying as ever! Very recommended!
