Swampwater Grill - Cincinnati

This was my first experience with Cajun food, and it exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend the fried gator; it's absolutely delicious. The sausage is fantastic as well. The atmosphere is fun, making for a great overall experience. The portion sizes are huge—I can easily make three meals out of what I ordered!

A must-visit spot in Cincinnati! The restaurant may not be extravagant, but the food is exceptional. We began with a plate of smoked jalapeño poppers, and they were absolutely delicious—definitely worth a try! We had planned to order the sweetheart deal for two featuring ribs, but unfortunately, they were out of them. Instead, I opted for the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans, while my husband chose the muffuletta with jambalaya. Wow... our meals were fantastic! Everything was served hot and bursting with flavor. The service was excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable given the generous portions.

The food was truly amazing. I have a great passion for Cajun cuisine, and it can be tough to find authentic Creole dishes. Every bite I took was bursting with flavor. The catfish was the best I’ve ever tasted.

We've been here maybe 7 times and it's sitting solidly in my #1 spot for favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. The Tomahawk shrimp porkchop with swamp sauce is one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. The gumbo and catfish etoufeé are also incredible. My wife got the grits and Mac/cheese and they were great too. That being said, we've thoroughly enjoyed everything that's come out of that kitchen and if we weren't an hour away, we would come here once a month.

This place is a nice surprise. Friendly staff and interesting decor. I appreciated the cloth dividers between booths that provided for a bit more privacy. Large selection of foods that you don’t normally see around here. The portion of shrimp and grits was huge and delicious. Grilled shrimp cooked perfectly, and I’m not sure what sauce they had on the grits, but it was tasty. The place is even connected to an antique mall you can visit without having to leave the restaurant. Will def go again.
