What an awful experience that was. The coffee terrible ! The food horrible, tasteless, terrible value for money ! Atmosphere? This doesn't have anymore atmosphere! And so far stretched from last year's quality. This cafe is no longer cooking , but only feeding people. Theese people are a joke, compared to last year's offer! To AVOID.
Terrible Coffee. I've never felt inclined to leave a negative review as I believe everyone should have the benefit of doubt and I would try a second time. However, coffee this morning was the worst I have ever had: milk was over done and the coffee was obviously old. At least try to sample your coffee before you serve it to customers.
I've been a customer since I started my career in the public service. I've tried a lot of places around the CBD and surrounding areas. Given my vacation I’m pretty time poor, and need time away from the office nonetheless (they also do al-a-carte take-away). The main staff member is a lady by the name of rebbeca (beckky) who’s helpful and delightful. The service she provides is punctual and she makes excellent coffee. Although some of the staff may not be as welcoming as some of the others and struggle with English sometimes I continue to visit. Food is great and has variety, plus light on my wallet. Service is excellent; Great value, child friendly, but shame about the location
Depends on who you get. Rebecca is lovely but some other staff are not. I called up to make an order and was answered by a man who told me he was too busy. I said I was happy to be flexible but he hung up on me. I'm guessing it was a cook as he lacked the social skills to keep his customers happy. I used to be a regular customer but not after that. I won't be going back for a while. They are apparently doing just fine without my money.
We were near the ANU in Canberra and happened upon Chats Cafe while looking for coffee, the menu looked so good we decided to stay for lunch. My Lamb Curry was excellent and was the best I have had outside Malaysia, the others deciding on the Grilled Blue eye Cod on mash potato with lemon and caper butter were equally rapt, the total with coffee... $22 with a small tip......excellent food and great value, HIGHLY recommended
