Fountain Court Apartments

The EQ 2 offers fantastic rooms that are spacious, clean, and come with great amenities such as a full kitchen and washing machine. It's important to note that this is an apartment rather than a hotel, but there are definite advantages to this setup. Compared to a hotel, the rooms are larger and the accommodations are of higher quality for a better price. Coming back to a full sized leather couch and a variety of TV channels (including free movies) on a flat screen was a nice touch after a day of exploring Edinburgh. One downside is that the location can be challenging to find initially, especially for pedestrians. But once you get familiar with the area, you'll realize it's actually quite convenient to many of the major attractions (a 15-20 minute walk to the Royal Mile). This may not be the best option for those who rely on tour buses at their doorstep. The location is on the edge of an up-and-coming neighborhood with nearby trendy restaurants, grocery stores, and cafes, albeit bordering an industrial area. During our stay in September, the front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a two bedroom apartment. The breakfast provided in a standard room includes freshly baked bread, cereal, milk, and yogurt. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.
