Contribuisci feedbackI visited here a couple of nights ago on crutches. There were only two other tables being used in the restaurant. Otherwise there was a lot of space. I politely asked the owner if I could put my leg up on a chair to elevate it having broken my leg a week ago). He said NO ! We have to think of the other guests and it’s best if you take your food home with you. The other guests said they didn’t mind and so he agreed to serve me at the table. I was left feeling like I had done something wrong. At no point did he offer assistance. Besides, the food was extremely ordinary and I was happy to get out of there. I would not recommend this restaurant.
My partner thougt his curry was nice. I ordered butter chicken special which was definitely not what I got. They took it away and did something. It was edible but still not what I asked for and did not offer to take my rice away and refresh. Automatic 12.5% service if you read the menu until.the last page and wrong rice charged for. The attitude of one of the staff was appalling, he thought me querying the extra 25p was pathetic. I didn't care I was just annoyed and the service charge was not earned. Obviously if it is automatic then no actual service is necessary. Much better curry establishments nearby. I definitely don't recommend and seriously have to be put out to be bothered to write a review.
The main drawback of this restaurant is the unpleasant manager who loudly accused me of being the only one who requested no coriander in my food, despite my dish being smothered in coriander leaves. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere for all the other diners. Additionally, the manager mishandled a simple inquiry about takeout options, showcasing his apparent displeasure with his job. The food was disappointing, with my sag aloo lacking flavor and my mushroom bhaji undercooked. Although my husband enjoyed his fish thali, we were both put off by the manager's rude demeanor. When I refused to pay the service charge, the manager insisted I do so, citing the menu. I informed him that I was not obligated to do so under British law, which he did not take well. After recalculating the bill, he loudly instructed me not to return, a suggestion I had no intention of accepting. The restaurant was nearly empty compared to neighboring establishments like Moghuls, which were bustling with customers. Its hygiene rating was not stellar, as evidenced by the makeshift plastic bag covering a tap in the men's restroom. Based on this experience and other reviews, it is best to steer clear of this restaurant and opt for one of the many superior options nearby.
Food was fine, nothing special but for central London prices aren’t bad. The real downside was service. Both waiters were grumpy, just pointed to a table on arrival and didn’t acknowledge us leaving. The table beside us was audibly being challenged for not wanting to pay the service charge added to their bill. Initially there was pleasant music but this stopped halfway through dinner which left no atmosphere with only 2 other tables occupied.
Located on a side street, we initially walked past this restaurant before changing our minds and returning. That proved to be our first mistake. While the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was lacking - no music, no enticing smells, no warmth. Despite this, we decided to stay, which was our second mistake. The menu offered typical dishes, so we opted for chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo thinking it would be safe. However, the tikka masala was overly sweet and the vindaloo lacked flavor, only offering heat. It seemed as though the dishes were quickly prepared in a microwave with no attention to slow cooking or proper preparation. The naan was enjoyable, but the pilau rice lacked seasoning, only containing a few bits of carrot. The beverage selection was limited, offering only one type of wine by the glass and one type of beer worth ordering. It's unclear how long this restaurant will last, but if the owners are not committed to running a quality establishment, they should consider closing down.
