We went to this restaurant on a Tuesday to celebrate my birthday. After being seated, we were interrupted multiple times by the staff rushing us to finish our meals because they wanted to accommodate a larger group waiting at the door. Despite no reservation on our table and other customers still enjoying their evening, we were pressured to leave quickly to make room for the group. This rushed experience tainted what was supposed to be a special night, and we left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed with the service. It is understandable for restaurants to get busy in London, but prioritizing turnover over customer experience is unacceptable.
Firstly I was in the queue for 40 mins. Waiting for a table for 3. People that came after me were seated first because they were 4 or 2 people. The waiter told us we would be seated in 10 minutes then offered us the bar, we wanted a table. Finally we were seated at the very back and cramped by the kitchen and near the back door with a cold breeze. The server was rude. The food was mediocre and bland. Do not believe the hype because there are people queuing. Possibly the worst Japanese I've ever had.
The waiter neglected to place our order, and when I inquired about our food, the staff made a big show of apologizing... but only to my boyfriend. They even offered him complimentary drinks, but not me, even though the waiter forgot to submit the order for the entire table, resulting in both of our meals being very late. One staff member was more attentive, but the others only apologized to the man. It was truly shocking behavior. The food was tasty, but because of the rudeness, I do not plan on returning.
Food was lovely and especially made superb by server Promise, he helped to rectify a mistake and was totally friendly and knew what he was doing. Thank you!
