Tiny pub but a massive find.. What a beautiful gem. Seconds from hectic Victoria Station but a real sanctuary with inside plus outside seating (some down a leafy side street . Granted, they don 't have the most trendy modern pale ales but I got a super cask ale (Bombardier at £4 something a pint! Can 't say fairer than that Intimate brown timber seating and fittings inside; true traditional local pub feel. Original, not fake. Attentive and engaging barmaid. (Are you still allowed to say barmaid ? If you 're meeting any out-of-towners at Victoria, use this as a meeting place and they should be impressed that you know London 's hidden gems best kept secrets.
Got refused to have a pint yesterday as I was told that I'm upsetting the Bar staff. I only asked couple of questions what happened in the pub 1,5 month ago when it was one of the regular customer beating up the man in this pub. I definitely don't recommend this place as it's all stinky and trouble all the time going on as there as local customers who can beat other customers. Dont recommend to go there, plenty of places in Victoria where you can enjoy without getting into argument with the regular customer who usually seats by the bar and looking at people.
Absolutely an excellent place to delete your thirst and chat with great people. Can not recommend very enough. A real pub, not an artful tourist. (And I am a tourist lol)
Americans here. Visiting London alone and this pub made me feel like I lived my whole life there. Fantastic staff and cartridges that are welcoming and not entertaining. Large local beers on Hahn. Thank you to Peter for giving me a great experience of a real English pub.
Absolutely fantastic pub with a lot of personality. unfortunately no food, but otherwise great to finish the day (or to start it after noon)
