We definitely ordered Thai food from them. We ordered from them because their prices were reasonable for Upper West Side. I ordered drunken noodle with chicken, mild spice level and my sister ordered red curry, mild spice level. I really enjoyed my dish; it was flavorful and the quantity was good. I tried my sister's dish and it was good as well. We could have ordered medium spicy and would have been fine. The service was good. The place looks nice. I just wonder which one are they Japanese and Thai or Thai only. Does anyone know? I would definitely get food from them again next time I'm in the area. I'm so happy there's another good Thai place in that area.
This has been my go to takeout for lunch place for the last month or so. Generous portions make every dollar you spend count! I've tried the green curry and drunken noodles. Noodles were perfectly chewy and had a nice balance of flavor, not overly salty. They also let you pick proteins like shrimp and beef for the same price as other proteins that are usually lower prices at Thai places. The Green curry sauce was really good! wasn't a big fan of the hearts of palm in the dish since they tasted a little sour, but that could also just be my personal preference. I also love getting the chicken and shrimp dumplings as my side for the lunch specials. They come in threes and are these massive dumplings topped with some green onions with a side of soy sauce. Would highly recommend getting takeout for lunch here!
During this pandemic, Opai Thai has been a pretty good go-to spot for delivery. Overall, I have not had any issue with the speed of food delivery. In many cases, Opai delivers the food faster than Grubhub 's estimated delivery, which is an A+ in my book. The prices of the menu items are pretty much in line with other Thai places in the area. Word on the street is that you will get a better bang for your buck if you order during lunch hours. The amount of food for the lunch specials is about the same for dinner service . As of Nov. 2020, there is no delivery fee, but there is a $1 service fee. Definitely looking forward to ordering from Opai Thai again.
The best green curry I've ever had in my life. The vegetables were perfectly cooked beautifully sized. There was a whole artichoke. I would drive from downtown to uptown just to visit.
Opai Thai has been a constant go to for us. The food is SO good, and SO flavorful. PLUS if you order delivery, the portions are WILD. Every time I end up ordering a noodle dish from them for delivery, I end up having food for 2, sometimes 3 meals. You definitely get your bang for buck. My partner and I are huge fans of the drunken noodles they are just so flavorful and their spice level is pretty great.
