The Parrilla (grill) is located near the crossroads of Congreso and Balbin, which is a little out of the way for regular tourists, unless they knew about it. It was still busy on a Sunday evening with many locals eating there. The reason was, of course, that the food was amazing. You can't get a steak in Toronto. The service was fast and professional. We were there because the owner of the apartment we rented by Booking.com at 2333 Fitz Roy in Palermo was one of the owners of the Parrilla. Celestino was a very good host in both places. In the apartment he visited our needs. The apartment is a Batelor but has everything you need for a short stay. Palermo is conveniently located on the Subte D line, which brings you very quickly to the city centre. The Buenos Aires subway system is very complete and includes the whole city. This is complemented by an equally comprehensive Collectivo (Bus) system. Individual travel on public transport costs less than 50 cents each.
It is the best place to taste Argentine meat!!! and not just meat. Everything you order will be delicious!!! I never try as well prepared and as delicious as in this place. Tiramisu is the best in town. The bread is also very delicious!!
As a solo woman traveler, eating alone for dinner can be a little unpleasant at some places. Not here. The restaurant was recommended to me by my Airbnb hostess, who is a cook through training and considers it a favorite in all BA. I ordered Provoleta con oliva and brochetas (like a kebab but better) with chicken, apples, bacon and plums. Everything was amazing, mouth-watering kindness, and I just wish I had someone else with me so I could taste more of the menu. If you are travelling alone, I highly recommend this restaurant, but I also recommend early at 8:30 or so. The entire restaurant was filled at 9 a.m. on a Saturday night, so if you are alone, it could take a long time to take a suitable for a single if you arrive later. It is also worth noting that the restaurant only accepts cash, so come ready. And eat the contents of your heart!
This restaurant served up excellent food and service and ambience, all rolled into one fantastic package. The food was delicious and prepared and served perfectly, the waiters were attentive and the wine excellent. My first taste of provoleta which tasted like a gift from the gods. For American visitors this is like the ultimate grilled cheese sans bread. A definite addition to a 'must do ' list of places to eat in BA.
