La Rana Dorada

Came here as two different people had recommended this spot for the free flight of beer samples they provide (the flight is shaped like a boat), but unfortunately they were out of shot glasses when we went on a Sunday evening, so we couldn’t sample anything. We had a late dinner here around 9pm and they serve primarily bar bites. We ordered the empanadas, the Rana Dorada pizza, and the nachos. I liked the pizza the best it’s thin crust and they make it fresh. The nachos came with a bit too much sour cream but did have guacamole and automatically comes with chicken. The empanadas were really thin and crunchy (not your typical empanada). It came with a chimichurri sauce in the side and our order had three pieces. Free WiFi is available. Credit cards are accepted.

We wanted a light dinner and wanted to try the beer. Beer was great. We ordered a taco chicken pizza which was good. Nice crust. Could have been warmer. It arrived sort of tepid. They had other choices for food -quesadilla, burgers. People mention slow or rude service. That was not our experience. It was adequate. I would go again for good beer and pub food.

Great beer and pizza. Service was excellent loved the outdoor seating in what during the day think is the road. Craft beers which are very good try the 5 beer sampler.

But…. often we stay for food …… but waitress was miserable walked off half way taking our order. Beer was good not sure what happened to the wine the glass was wet not chilled. When we paid we were asked for tip .. we always do but not when the waitresses are rude and miserable seems to be a common issue in Panama)

Tried this beer (Rana Dorado) at another restaurant and liked it so much we went to the brewery the next day for another taste. Excellent on a hot day, and aren’t they all!
