My parents met here back in the 90s when it was a club called the red carpet. They said it still looks very similar and brings back a lot of nostalgia. The food is cheap and good. The portion sizes are huge. Staff is cool and works fast. The salsa tastes like pizza sauce but they 'll bring out salsa verde, roja, etc if you ask for it. I 'll definitely come back when I 'm in town.
Been there twice and everything we tried so far was great.
We’ve been coming to Don Jarro since 2020, and in the past year, service and food quality has really gone down hill. We’ve tried several times, and we’re finally done. Tonight I ordered a pick two combo of menudo and a chicken quesadilla that is supposed to come with chicken that’s cooked with tomato, onion and peppers. It’s the driest quesadilla I’ve ever had. There isn’t a speck of veggies with the meat. It’s also supposed to come with rice and beans, and those were left out. Our last visit, we had to remind the waitress for about half a dozen items that she kept forgetting, and the time before there was a table of women who were all clearly very drunk with their children. They were loud, were cursing, and should never have been served that much ESPECIALLY with children in their care. It was disgusting. We’ve given them enough chances, and things continue to go downhill. Sorry to say, this visit was our last.
I always go there, at least twice a month if not once a week. My entire family loves it. The two owners are great people and know my parents' orders by heart. I have been there for my birthday and I had so much fun. It's absolutely my favorite place to go eating. The atmosphere is amazing, and they treat everyone like family.
