Miss Lucille's Cafe - Clarksville

I didn't have high expectations for a café attached to an antique/thrift store, but I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was great, with good music playing, and the staff was hardworking. The food came out quickly, and there were plenty of vegetarian options available. The potato cakes were amazing! One suggestion: many vegetarians (and possibly others) might assume that the grilled cheese sandwich is vegetarian-friendly. I'm so glad we asked, as we found out it usually contains bacon, which isn't suitable for vegetarians. However, I was really happy that they took a little off the price for leaving it out.

Out of frustration, I decided to cancel the order because when I brought this to the owner's attention, he refused to remove the extra $2 charge and instead offered me a mere 5% “discount” as if he were doing me a favor. It's one thing to charge extra for modifications that require significant changes to a dish, but to mark up the price simply because someone opts for a vegan meal is unfair. They should just adjust the price accordingly by swapping the chicken for avocado without the hassle. It shouldn’t be that complicated!

Jim and I recently hosted an event at Belle Hollow, a venue we've used multiple times over the past four years. Once again, we were incredibly pleased with the food, the setup, and the attention to detail. A big thank you to Trent and Dana Knott, Luci Armistead, Emily, and the entire staff for making it such a wonderful experience!

The quality of the food doesn't match the price. I visited on August 18, 2024, and spent about $35 for two small sandwiches and one fountain drink. I wouldn’t really consider potato chips a proper side dish. We waited over 30 minutes and saw several people who ordered after us receive their meals. I was very disappointed.

A bigger issue for me is that there's no indication of spice levels in the dishes. I understand everyone has different spice tolerances, but there are definitely variations, and clearer information would be beneficial for those who are sensitive to spice. I personally have a nerve condition that heightens my sensitivity to spice, and despite asking about the spice levels, no one seemed able to provide any clarity. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed this time.
