Thai Bowl - Clarksville

I was really looking forward to trying Lao food when I discovered this restaurant! We ordered Thai tea with boba, basil fried rice, Khao Poon with a heat level of 3, and beef Larb also at level 3. The Thai tea was enjoyable, but the Beef Larb left a lot to be desired. It was made with ground beef and only came with small slices of cabbage and a sprinkle of pepper flakes. As for the Khao Poon, it tasted predominantly sweet from the coconut and wasn't savory at all; there were only a few small pieces of chicken breast in it, making it quite bland. The basil beef fried rice, on the other hand, was good. Overall, while it wasn’t very authentic, I had high hopes for the experience.

I wasn't feeling well, so we decided to order from this restaurant via DoorDash. Personally, I've had better Thai food. We tried the Deep-Fried Marinated Short Ribs with Sauce (which comes with rice), Pad Thai with beef, and Pad Si Ew. I would definitely recommend the Pad Si Ew! However, I didn't enjoy the short ribs, and the Pad Thai didn't impress me either. I felt that they only provided a small wedge of lemon, and I really would have appreciated more.

The menu is quite extensive, featuring unique and delicious dishes, including some classic favorites. The service is attentive, and there's plenty of seating available. I found their Massaman curry to be enjoyable—definitely more savory than the traditional version, which is usually a bit sweeter and creamier. They finish it with peanuts instead of cashews, which is a nice complementary addition (though I did add cashews for extra texture, as I prefer a bit more crunch). Next time, I might just stick with extra peanuts, as they have a subtle toasted flavor.

The portions are definitely not worth the price! They're charging $13.50 for this! They claim that the cost of food is increasing, so they raise their prices while offering smaller portions. I certainly won't be returning.

I visited this restaurant in Clarksville, and it was the best Thai and Laotian food I’ve ever tasted! I highly recommend it.
