Great place for lunch. I only wish they would change their menu more often. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Wonderful, fresh food with a focus on local purveyors. The menu is concise but thoughtful; there was something for everyone in our group. Everything was perfectly prepared and just so tasty. We sat out on the patio which is really lovely and has a great vibe. When the bill came I had to check it several times because the total seemed too low for the number of people in our party and the amount of food we ordered. Seriously great value. This is easily my new favorite in the area and I can’t wait to visit again and try the cocktails. PS Don’t skip dessert the homemade cakes are chef’s kiss! As a small business owner, I love and hate Google reviews. Most are on point but some reviews are ridiculous and have no idea the harm they are causing with a poor review. The fact that anyone would give this lovely and thoughtful establishment anything other than a 4 or 5 star review is just silly. It’s a lovingly remodeled building in downtown Clayton, Ga. It’s family owned and they have made great effort to make it cozy and welcoming. The back patio is cool on a hot day and dog friendly. The food was prepared with care (please don’t complain if it takes 15-20 minutes to make your meal by hand) and was delicious and well presented. The service was excellent- familiar and warm. We stumbled in near closing after our truck broke down. They fed us, told us to take our time, and the waitress even offered us a ride home. Please support this wonderful business and appreciate when others serve you with effort and care. It’s so hard to make a business run well, but they are doing a great job in this cafe.
I wish that I could give a zero. I understand a busy holiday lunch crowd. What I don’t understand is after waiting close to 40 minutes for a salad, a grilled cheese and a cup of soup and pointing out that people seated well after we had placed our order were getting their food, the waitress chided that our order was slower because of the grilled cheese. Then after being assured that our order was coming out soon.then being assured by another employee that we had not even spoken to that orders are filled as submitted, our waitress came to our table to apologize that she had failed to submit our order. Seriously? When a couple has waited on their food for 40 minutes and is then told that the kitchen did not have the orderwell, there is not any service recovery to fix that. And, if when I first pointed out that I saw two tables of people seated after us get their food the staff had not man-splaned reasons for the slow service before actually trying to expedite our orderthere MAY have been some forgiveness. (Andit was two women did the man-splaning. They had the tone perfect.
