The food is just average and somewhat pricey, likely due to the lack of competition. During one particularly chilly evening, we decided not to sit inside and ended up leaving because we weren't comfortable. The best way to enjoy this place is from your own boat—bring your own drinks and anchor at the end of the dock. The breakfast is good, which is why I'm giving it two stars instead of one.
I can't believe the negative reviews I'm seeing. What's up with people? I guess in small towns, some folks expect a reality-show experience for a bargain price. This place is exactly what it is, and I think it's fantastic! Yes, the service can be hit or miss, but most of the staff are college students, and I never come here in a rush. I visit to unwind. I'm actually glad the bartenders take their time because I do too. Sitting in a Tiki cabin on a breezy day in Iowa while sipping a beer—how can you not love that? This is a place to leave your worries behind and embrace a laid-back vibe that encourages you to slow down and enjoy life. There simply aren't enough places that let you do that. Appreciate this wonderful spot for what it is, take a step back, and have a drink or two. The only things this place really needs are more parking and a larger outdoor area so that more people like me can enjoy it!
Waitress and bartender (same person) was great! Very nice and helpful in suggestions! The Mojito was prefect and the chicken package was delicious! Very funny place at the lake!
One of our friends got their burger after everyone. My man was starving. Our beers were hot af too. Would not recommend unless you’re brainless and like wind.
Expensive food, expensive drinks, rude servers, not for smokers (even though no signs are posted), bad patron vibes. Highly DO NOT recommend!
