Umai Cafe - Clearwater

I've always wanted to try this Japanese café, and the interior is charming and cozy. The staff is friendly and accommodating. However, I was disappointed with the pork bao rolls I ordered. They were quite small, with only a tiny piece of pork in each bun. The rolls lacked flavor, and after waiting 15 minutes, my order arrived cold. The pork didn’t taste fresh, although I do appreciate that it was real slices instead of low-quality shredded meat. Unfortunately, it felt more like I was eating cold bao pastry than enjoying any substantial meat. The accompanying vegetables weren’t very impressive either. Overall, I was let down by the quality compared to other bao places. On a positive note, the sushi was excellent, and I would definitely recommend it. I hope to return in the future!

I had some of the best food I've ever tasted! I visited during a perfect time, so the service was prompt. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

I have to say, the food I had here was the worst I've ever tasted. It had a plastic-like smell and seemed to be of very low quality. The chicken was particularly disappointing. When I tried to express my concerns, the staff seemed indifferent. They mentioned that the food had been sitting out for an hour, but that was all they could do about it. There’s a big difference between just bad food and food that’s cold and stale!

Great quiet place to grab some delicious sushi?. The staff was friendly and very helpful. That was the perfect break from cooking at home. And the sashimi portions were incredible! Come back here. We ordered 2 bowls soup, 4 pieces sashimi and two rolls.

Had been here before and remember it being pretty good so I placed an order for pick up. Ordered 2 Mexico rolls and some other rolls. Got home and both Mexico rolls had hard rubbery avocado in them, which ruined both rolls. They would have known cutting up the avocado that it was bad but they decided to use it anyway. Pretty disappointing?.
