Fancy Sushi is my favorite sushi restaurant in the Clermont area. Their staff is always on top of everything providing wonderful service. The food is also delicious. My favorite go to is the Bugs Bunny Roll. Even though this is a veggie roll, it has also won a top spot on my meat loving husband's list of favorites. Vegetarian options: They have some delicious vegetarian rolls and other options throughout the menu.
SUSPECTED RACISM HERE. This was the night of 8/2/2024. The guy that served us had a face mask and when I talked to the manager about he started defending the guys behavior and saying he was sick or something. The service was bad and I felt like the guy was rushing us to make our orders and brought us our check in a way where he was pushing out of the restaurant. At first I thought that the guy was a racist or something since I was Black and my date was White. This was our first date so you can imagine how awkward and uncomfortable the situation was. Bottom line is that if the guy is sick why is he working around food or even at work in general? It's not only a health hazard but you won't give the best service if you're feeling bad. Another waitress was just grilling me and looking at me funny so it was just an all around uncomfortable experience. Buddy should've just stayed home if he was feeling that bad.The manager even told me I wasn't the only one that complained so this was a real problem and not just in my head I understand people get sick and things happen but I've been sick before and never treated anyone like trash. I'm the last person that would be cold hearted and non compassionate towards someone if they're sick but I have a gut feeling that thats the guys normal attitude towards people whether he's sick or not. Ive been around people long enough to just know these things. Either way we won't be going back here since first impressions are everything. I'll be getting my money back.
My main course was great. The salad was fresh, but I really disliked the dressing. No optional choices for dressings were offered. The broth was tasty. When prices are high you should offer choices, and have more than 1 salad dressing. Vegetarian options: The only thing solitary vegetarian, was the salad, and it was very small, with very little variety. Vegetables were more of an accent to all the meals they have plenty of rice an udon noodles, but no stir fry Kid-friendliness: This is a place to take a date, not children, unless they are very well behaved. It is a small place, and very quaint.
Once again, another restaurant that I frequent that I have failed to leave a review for until now. I have been to fancy sushi many times and it never lets me down. The hibachi combo is usually what I get because it’s a great combination of everything that I love about Japanese food. But this time around I got sushi. Pictured is the gyoza appetizer. It’s served with a peanut soy sauce and oh my! They are sooo good. The rolls are a volcano roll, which was tempura shrimp, cream cheese and avacado. The other roll was called long meadow. It was crab, yellow fin, and cucumber, with a touch of sweetness. It was so fresh and delicious. Both rolls were incredible. I can’t wait to go back to try another. They also have several Japanese craft beers available as well. Sake, and Japanese sodas are available on the drink menus along with other types of beverages. The atmosphere is somewhat cramped but if they’re not super busy it’s totally manageable. I am a huge fan of fancy sushi and I am looking forward to returning soon.
