The basil fried rice was the best I've ever tasted. Plus, the service is incredibly quick—almost shockingly fast! It's truly impressive. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return to try more items from the menu. As for parking, there is a free parking lot available as well as free street parking.
I recently ordered takeout from Map of Thailand and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfying. While the service was prompt and friendly, the dish I ordered, the drunken noodles, left much to be desired. To my disappointment, the noodles were mostly lettuce, which was a letdown considering I was expecting a hearty serving of noodles. Additionally, the sauce was quite bland and lacked the complex flavors and spice I was hoping for. Lastly, I was disappointed in the portion size for the price I paid.Overall, while I cannot highly recommend the drunken noodles, there may be other dishes that are worth trying at Map of Thailand. The restaurant does have a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, so perhaps with a few adjustments to the dish I ordered, I would consider returning for another meal or dining in to see if the experience is different. However, based on my takeout experience, I cannot give Map of Thailand a strong recommendation.
I can't say enough about this place. You may get thrown off by the reservation aspect, but it is honestly the best thing for the customer.I haven't found a pad Thai that rivaled my favorite in 10 years. The Tom Kha soup was delightful in my brain and my belly. Also, the friendliness of the staff and the clear sense of humor based on the bathroom signs earned the all over 5 star review. It's incredibly clean as well, and I'm so picky.Run, don't walk to this establishment
Came into a nearly empty restaurant today around 5:20 pm. There was one guest sitting at a table. We asked for a table for 6. The waitress asked if we had reservations. There was an empty table for 6 literally right by the door. We told her that we did not have reservations. She told us that she’d have to check to see if they had room for us. Leaving to go to the back she disappeared for a bit and when she came back she told us that they could seat us.I’ve eaten in a lot of restaurants in my day, but I’ve never felt so much like I inconvenienced someone by coming in to eat in their restaurant. We weren’t given menus and were left alone for 15 minutes to look at each other. We looked at the website- no indication that reservations were required. This is a Thai restaurant in Asia Town, not Nobu or something. There were literally like 10 empty tables which remained mostly empty for the entirety of our visit. Honestly I was so annoyed that I wanted to leave to eat at Dagu and or Han BBQ next door, both superior restaurants, but my wife convinced me to stay. To be clear, I never want to leave restaurants before ordering. But it was frankly insulting to be treated this way in an empty restaurant while my kids told me how hungry they were.Anyways, the food was ok. Some dishes were pretty good. Small portions. Prices not bad. But for Thai food, I’ll be going to Thai Thai from now on. They are much better.
