Very nice hotel with a big garden in which two helicopter platforms! We had a simple but clean room. Breakfast was good and extensive. The owner, and also the staff, were very hospitable, and everyone was welcome to Proseco the first night he told us about the history of the hotel and town of Clifden. In the garden there's a copy of the propeller of the first plane that crossed the Atlantic ocean and landed in Clifden. Apparently the 1st telex message was sent across the ocean from here.
Came here to see True North during Arts Week. They were fantastic and gave great entertainment in a wonderful intimate setting. The only reason for the not great rating is that the manager came in while True North were still playing to take over by playing piano at full volume. He is good at piano, but I'd have preferred to hear more True North
A charming 19th century castle style hotel with nice rooms, WiFi 6, 3.1 amp USB chargers, skeleton keys, and lots of Irish hospitality. They have an enormous snooker table, a turf fire in the bar, and a lovely dining room with very good and hardworking wait staff. Good food, too, and a nice view from some places. They have their own beehives and a pair of helipads!
Honest to goodness castle with lovely common rooms. The grounds on their own are worth it. Had a delightful all inclusive dinner and breakfast. Their dinner was the best food we ate on our trip! Very large room with a lovely view. We would very highly recommend this Hotel!
