Griffin's Live Music Venue - Clifden

My wife and I randomly decided to stop for lunch at midday while exploring the area during our vacation. She ordered the seafood chowder and I ordered the delicious crab cakes.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for lunch. The brain cake was the best I've ever tasted! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her seafood chowder. They also have a wide selection of drinks, including the popular Guinness.

The best Guinness in Clifden can be found at this restaurant. After seeing it advertised in a local brochure, I couldn't resist trying it for myself and was not disappointed.

Owner is abusive and threatening- Avoid this place at all costs. Don’t take my word for it. Just read the other reviews

The pub could be great but the owner is an awful lump of a man, he is threatening, intimidating, rude, aggressive, unpredictable and should not operate a pub. He is hot headed and is backed up by his sidekick barman so there's nobody to challenge the owner, tell him that the way he behaves is outrageous and unacceptable and so the behaviour continues. There's no way this guy should be in charge of a pub and he should be closed down asap.
