Local 188 is celebrating 25 years. There are a lot of reasons why this restaurant has that type of staying power in a Portland market where restaurants come and go. The ambiance with the owner's own eclectic art collection on the wall celebrating 25 years. The manager checking on us, the wait staff, and the unbelievably dishes. Delicious bread, appetizers, and entrees. This place just moved to our favorites list.

We enjoy our periodic visits to Local 188. The food and drinks are very tasty. Nothing is inexpensive anymore but the prices seem reasonable for the quality. We enjoyed everything we had: the seared tuna, cauliflower, the chocolate torte. Our server was great and we appreciated that the chef came by at the end of the evening.
We are summer residents who eat here often. The food is outstanding, the service friendly and the prices for Portland are reasonable. There is also ample parking so why go to the Old Port when this wonderful restaurant is so accessible.
